Moodle

Moodle is a free Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It is an application which allows you to create online activities for your students, store materials for them, manage your students’ grades, etc. Essentially, Moodle is a tool which enables you to create a website environment for your class. It needs to be installed on a web server. Therefore, you will need your school to agree to put Moodle on their web server, and you will need a technician’s help for this.

Evaluation: Moodle is a useful course management system. It is adaptable enough to be used with all ages of students (from primary education to adult education and training) and all learner types (audio, visual, learning by doing). With Moodle, you can bring (authentic) material into the classroom relatively simply. Privacy-wise, Moodle is relatively safe to use. Teachers choose whom to enrol in their courses and students access the courses via a username and password.
