Úloha národného strediska 

Pre koordináciu aktivít organizovaných na vnútroštátnej úrovni, Rada Európy vyzýva účastnícke krajiny o nomináciu osôb na Národné Strediská EDJ. Úlohou takéhoto strediska je pôsobiť ako „znásobovač“ počtu organizácií, škôl, asociácií, ktoré distribuujú:

  • informácie, ktoré sú oznámené Radou Európy (napríklad tlačové vyhlásenie v deň kedy sú strediská vyzvané k prekladu aktualít na ich stránke do ich národného/miestneho jazyka)
  • promočné materiály – plagáty, nálepky, atď., ktoré Rada Európy poskytuje každoročne v značných množstvách pre organizátorov podujatí

Strediská sú v čo najväčšej miere vedené k realizácii propagácie Európskeho dňa jazykov v rámci štátu a regiónov a to prostredníctvom tlače, kde sa dôraz kladie na zvýraznenie webovej stránky EDJ a na ohlásenie priebehu oslavy EDJ v danej krajine Rade Európy.

Niektoré strediská si vytvorili vlastnú národnú webovú stránku EDJ,  vzhľadom na počet zorganizovaných podujatí v krajine.  

Strediská EDJ fungujú ako dobrovoľnícke centrá a Rada Európy uznáva ich dôležitý prínos s vďačnosťou. 

Štáty, ktoré momentálne nemajú svoje národné strediská:

Ako môžete vidieť na mape, niektoré štáty aktuálne nemajú svoje národné stredisko.

Takéto stredisko môže reprezentovať jednotlivec  alebo súčasná štruktúra, ktorá je už v kontakte s Radou Európy, hoci toto nie je základná požiadavka.

Akákoľvek štruktúra (centrá/asociácie/administratívne jednotky, atď.), ktorá je schopná pôsobiť ako stredisko medzi svojou krajinou a Radou Európy, je vyzvaná, aby nadviazala kontakt so svojimi národnými autoritami alebo s Radou Európy.
