European Day of Languages @ IIS Fermi Licata

Students and teachers of the secondary school Fermi of Licata are going to be involved in a great number of activities in order to learn about the languages spoken in Europe and all over the world, about the European Union policies to increase awareness of the importance of speaking a second or even a third or a fourth language through meetings with guest speakers, projects, videos, indoor and outdoor activities and conferences.

A buffet of typical sweets of different European countries, music and dance of a group of cheerleaders and students are going to take place in the school hall. There are going to be a flashmob and laboratories on environmental policies. Students are also going to do a role play on a A Model European Parliament, which is a simulation of the European Parliament plenary session, in order to learn about the importance of this institutional body and of the issues of political interests debated during the session.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
