Verses and Sounds of Europe

Traditionally, on the occasion of the European Day of Languages, on September 26th, pupils of "Dušan Jerković" Primary School from Užice, Serbia, with the English and French teachers and school librarians take part in the celebration. This year 2020 we made exhibition through panels “Map of European Writers”, “Music Sounds of Europe” and “Les Francais(e)s Celebres”. The goal of European Language Day is to encourage all of us to learn languages. School librarians and foreign language teachers in the Primary school "Dušan Jerković" in Uzice, Serbia, in various ways, for a decade, encourage their pupils to embrace language learning at and outside the school, and celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
