Languages in science

Languages in science Pupils will estimate their knowledge of cell structure through quizzes and games. Each part of the cell will be guessed and pointed out with it's Serbian, English, Latin or Greek name. I will be pointing out, during the class the importance at universality of Latin and old Greek language in science. Glossary: CELL - from Latin CELLULA, meaning " small room", in Serbian ЋЕЛИЈА, witch means also " small room in monastery ". Further along words: cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, DNA, chromosomes, mitochondrion. For the 8th graders additional words: ribosome, Endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi body, lysosome, cytoskeleton.
