Workshop, 26.09.2012

The event was celebrated with a workshop on Wales and Welsh, organized by F. Cristian Dima, FL Teacher, emphasizing a regional language in an original way: in order to illustrate its richness, we invited Dr. Mererid Hopwood to join us via Skype. Dr. Hopwood is one of the most outstanding personalities of Wales: professor, translator, TV presenter and a great poet, who made history in 2001 by becoming the first woman ever to win the bardic Chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. She spoke about the impostance of all languages, no matter how popular they are, about the pride to be a representative of your own native culture and about the open-mindedness as a way of personal developing. The students were very excited with the presentation, with the new words in Welsh, with the special guest and the dialogue was rewarding. Thank you to all o you!
