Languages for Peace: A tribute to Camões

 Celebration, 16 sen 2024 - 30 okt 2024, Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal

Language Teachers and pupils celebrated Peace and the role of Camões as a tolerant, open-minded, wise and international individual as well as his work which reflects humanist and classical frame of mind. Messages in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English were written by 10- to 15 year-old- pupils. The Postcards were then sent to 12 European partner schools.

Struggling to find ideas for an event for this year’s European Day of Languages? It can be challenging to organise events that are fun, inclusive, have an educational element and motivate a large number of people. Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.

Long live the European Day of Languages/ Vive la Journée européenne des langues

The event received 1900+ votes and was organised by Lycée Alfred Mézières de Longwy, France.
