“Science speaks every language:Women in science connect the world”

 School project, 21 сеп 2025 - 14 ное 2025, PREVEZA, Гърция

Creating a collaborative poster of women scientists representing the participating primary and secondary schools of our European eTwinning project 'Science speaks every language: Women in science connect the world' raising awareness of women equal rights/ SDG5 in a STEAM oriented peaceful global perspective (including students and teachers of countries in war zone). Celebrating the unity and diversity of our European project bridging languages and cultures. More specifically, we aimed to bridge the gap between linguistic diversity and women's scientific discoveries by first studying carefully our national women scientists choosing them with our students on the basis of their discoveries, but also on their fights for peace and human rights in their countries and globally. We drew, wrote messages both in our national languages and English and made our posters, uploaded them on collaborative Genially and produced a common product/poster of all our scientists. Then students wrote on Mentimeter words of greetings in their languages, making a unique European kindness cloud of students greeting their fellow European classmates and our students learning also kind, friendly greetings in less wellknown European languages. All together, we used these greetings in our 1st Students transnational meetings together with our European partners and friends. In our school, 4th Primary School of Preveza, GREECE the organiser of this event was KYRIAKI DERMITZAKI, English teacher and co-founder of this European project together with SILVIA SACCO from ITALY.

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.

2025's 'most innovative event' is

The event received 900+ votes and was organised by Istituto Superiore “Secusio”, Caltagirone, Italia.

Congratulations to the winners!

We were greatly impressed by the creativity and great effort which went into organising the events submitted and would like to thank all organisers of EDL events in 2025.
