Pop-up Library: Surprise-Book

As part of European Day of Languages (26 September) and International Translation Day (30 September), the language department organized a Pop-up Library – Surprise Book event to promote reading and multilingual awareness among students. The school atrium was temporarily transformed into a mobile library. Books brought by students were wrapped to conceal their covers and labeled with brief, intriguing clues. Participants selected books based solely on these clues, encouraging curiosity, exploration, and peer interaction. The activity fostered cross-cultural engagement, language appreciation, and active student participation, highlighting the role of reading and translation in European linguistic diversity.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
