Discussion on the Linguistic Future of Europe

In our EDL discussion we will celebrate and explore multilingualism in the EU. We will focus on different European languages and the multilingual future of Europe: • What can be done and is being done to promote all languages in the EU? • What do the cultural institutes specifically do to promote their language and culture and how do their language courses work? • Exchange of ideas and good practices to promote all EU languages • How to overcome challenges? • What is the role of English? How do German and French develop in the EU? Which chances does Polish have? etc. We are looking forward to a multicultural debate. The discussion will be also streamed on the Facebook channel of the Representation of the European Commission in Germany.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
