Modern Languages Day 2019

 Language festival, 22 Mar 2019, Kingston, Jamaica

The festival, which will be launched on the 1st of March 2019 will seek to bring together students, teachers and the wider public in an exploration of a multilingual society.

The general objectives of the Modern Languages Day 2019 are to:
1. Alert the public to the importance of foreign language learning and diversifying the range of languages learnt in order to increase plurilingualism and intercultural understanding;
2. Promote the growing momentum behind Foreign Language learning;
3. Encourage lifelong Foreign Language learning in and out of school, whether for the purposes of study, professional needs, mobility or for pleasure and exchanges.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
