Paint and greet

 Workshop, 18 Sep 2023, Tivat, Montenegro

Children will be divided in 5-6 groups (5 or 6 students in each) and will be assigned to draw certain European flags. Each group will, of course, get a different flag to draw and the teacher will introduce children from each group to some basic greetings from the assigned countries. When they finish painting the flag, each group will present their flag to the other groups, say which country it is and they will greet the other students using the greeting expressions they learnt that day. This way children will get acquainted with several more European languages besides English, as well as with the concept of a foreign language in general. Furthermore, preschoolers love keeping their hands busy, so it is always a good idea to engage them in any kind of handwork, painting, drawing, arts and crafts etc. (in this case, as already mentioned, they will be creating flags from different countries)
