LANGUAGES OPEN HEARTS AND MINDS & BIRTHDAY TRADITIONS

 School project, 26 wrz 2025 - 03 paź 2025, Pločica, Municipality of Kovin, Serbia

Pupils and language teachers in our school celebrated the 25th anniversary of the European Day of Languages through various activities and projects pertaining to the motto “Languages open hearts and minds” and to birthday traditions in Europe, as we wanted to send warmest birthday wishes to the EDL and to all language learners in Europe. The goal was to include as many pupils as possible and to demonstrate how language learning fosters empathy, creativity, acquisition of new knowledge on different cultures, mutual understanding, and the beauty of diversity; how language can be utilised to shape our mindset and make a shift from a fixed to a growth mindset, as well as to expand pupils’ vocabulary related to empathy, compassion, honesty, honour, friendship, enthusiasm, positive mindset and motivation, “sense and sensibility”, and birthday traditions. We also wanted to emphasise the importance of reading as “readers are leaders”. The projects were done in Serbian, English as a second language, and French as a third language in our school; therefore, some of the posters are trilingual. The hall in our school is covered with posters in English and French and a plethora of international flags and quotes by renowned writers, scientists, and famous pop stars, sportsmen, and sportswomen, embellished with old Serbian proverbs on empathy, love, honour and dedication. We all enjoyed the festive atmosphere and engaging activities with smiles on our faces, and we are sending our positive vibes to everyone reading this. <3 <3 <3

Głosuj na najbardziej oryginalne wydarzenie roku!    

Aby uatrakcyjnić obchody Dnia Języków, stworzyliśmy możliwość głosowania na najbardziej innowacyjne wydarzenie w ramach EDJ; każdy, kto odwiedza naszą stronę internetową może oddać swój głos. Wydarzenie powinno wyróżniać się pod względem kreatywności, łatwości zastosowania w innych warunkach, bądź też po prostu odzwierciedlać ideę Dnia Języków. Głosować można przez okres jednego miesiąca – od 20 września do 20 października; zwycięzca ogłoszony zostanie w grudniu. Na organizatora zwycięskiego wydarzenia czeka skromna nagroda.

To wydarzenie otrzymało ponad 900+ głosów i zostało zorganizowane przez Istituto Superiore “Secusio”, Caltagirone, Italia.
