For the European Day of Languages, students in economics programmes will take part in a multilingual business challenge. Working in teams, they will create a small business idea and prepare a short presentation for customers from another European country. Each team will choose a product or service, identify its target customers and set a price. Students will then create a simple advertisement and practise a customer conversation in English and another European language. They will compare how greetings, product descriptions and persuasive messages change across languages and cultures. The event will end with a Multilingual Business Fair. Teams will present their ideas at stands, answer visitors’ questions and explain how language skills could help their business reach a wider market. Learning outcomes: Students will use basic business vocabulary in foreign languages, communicate with potential customers, adapt a marketing message to its audience and recognise the value of multilingualism in trade, tourism and entrepreneurship. Final products: a multilingual advertisement, a short customer dialogue and a business pitch.
