THE EUROPEAN JOURNEY

 Language festival, 26 sht 2025 - 07 tet 2025, Chiaravalle , Italy

THE EUROPEAN JOURNEY The aim of the project was to explore the customs, cuisine, geography and some linguistic expressions of seven European countries — each chosen independently by our seven Secondary School classes — and to create a “real” interactive European Village. The initiative drew inspiration from Montessori method, turning students into the protagonists and creators of knowledge, based on experiential learning and self-education. The organizational phase involved students from all three school levels — preschool, primary, and lower secondary — within our institute. Secondary School Students acted as "language ambassadors" and guides, independently setting up interactive stands dedicated to European countries (Spain, England, Germany, France, Greece, Norway and Poland). They dressed up in traditional costumes, performed mini-dialogues, danced, designed games, quizzes and materials, transforming the environment into a stimulating "village". Primary School Students participated as "experiential tourists". They visited the seven European Countries, equipped with a personalized "language passport" to collect stamps, signatures, and new words at each stand. Kindergarten Students contributed to decorations and learnt basic greetings and songs. Older students took on a tutoring role for the younger ones, fostering cooperation. The event culminated in the "Journey through the European Stands", led by the Secondary School's hosts and stewards. Participants played and interacted, also underscoring a civic message by learning the word "PEACE" translated into the different European languages. The experience concluded at the "Customs checkpoint”, where completed passports were rewarded with a souvenir. The event confirmed that language learning can be a joyful, concrete, and collaborative adventure
