European Language Families - and Esperanto, a new member

 Language Day, 26 Sep 2013, , Germany

During a school visit in Györ, Hungary, for the three partners of the Comenius-project GUTO (A Guided Tour from the Local Castle to the European House) we are organizing a Language Day in the Hungarian host school to celebrate the European Day of Languages on 26th September 2013. The three partners (German, Hungarian and Italian) belong to three different language families but they have something in common: they all learn and speak Esperanto - the neutral international language. The programme of the EDL will include the presentation of the students' mother tongues and Esperanto, the language used for the partnership, comparison of words and structure, a language quiz and an exhibition to be shown not only in the Hungarian school but also in Italy and Germany. We would like to make students conscious about respecting each others' languages and cultures and show them that there could be diversity but at the same time also unity and harmony.
