Giornata Europea delle Lingue 2025 a Treviso - European Day of Languages 2025 in Treviso

Thursday, September 26, 2025, marked the celebration of the European Day of Languages across Europe. This year also Treviso participated in the official celebrations with the event “European Day of Languages - Vehicular languages over time". Ca' Foscari University of Venice, with its Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies, the Veneto Regional School Office, the Italian headquarters of the Council of Europe, the Marciana National Library, and Europe Direct Venice Veneto of the Municipality of Venice—the European Union information network led by the Municipality of Venice in Veneto—organized the European Day of Languages 2025. On Friday, September 29, at the Liceo Statale Duca degli Abruzzi in Treviso, the event "Translation and Mediation: A Training Course" took place. Organized in collaboration with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the event introduced students and educators to the role of translation and cultural mediation in today’s interconnected Europe. After opening remakrs, participants explored how European mobility programs support multilingualism and intercultural learning. The morning was concluded with Ca’ Foscari students presentation of their project, offering insights into how translation and mediation can become tools for inclusion, communication, and professional growth.
