Visual Thesaurus

A visual dictionary. If you type in a word in the search box, its synonyms, antonyms, and related words will appear in the form of a mind map. If you click on a word that’s on the mind map, the map recreates itself to view words that are related to the chosen word. Registration needed for a 14-day free trial.

Evaluation: A useful tool for teachers, students, researchers and writers. For visual learners, this is a perfect dictionary tool. There is a tab called “education”, and you can find lesson plans using Visual Thesaurus, or find articles about teaching with technology. A great resource, but limited for free access to only 14 days. Very basic IT skills required for the use of the thesaurus.
Cost: Free trial + Paid premium plans
