The Tree of Languages

The Tree of Languages, a sculpture by Monique Bastiaans, is a joint work of the General Directorate of Language Policy and Multilinguism, the City Council of Valencia and Centre del Carme. It is a recognition of the richness that involves language diversity and a homage to Ramon Llull’s Tree of Science, as the creator of the language academies.

The President, Ximo Puig Ferrer and the Minister of Education, Investigation, Culture and Sport of the Valencian Government, Vicent Marzà Ibàñez, will participate in the inauguration ceremony.

Vote for this year’s most innovative event!  

To add a further element of spice to the Day, anyone visiting the website can vote for what they regard as the most innovative EDL event. This can be due to its creativity, transferability or just because it truly represents the spirit of the Day. Voting will be open for one month, from 20 September – 20 October, with the winner to be announced in December. There will be a small prize for the organizer of the event which receives the most votes.
