Trpimirovi poligloti / Trpimir's polyglots

 Language festival, 26 ira. 2024 - 30 urr. 2024, Kaštel Gomilica, Croatia

During September and October in our school we will traditionally celebrate the European Day of Languages called Trpimir's Polyglots with a series of activities. For younger students, from the first to the fourth grade, we will organize a school singing competition, the School Eurovision Contest. Volunteers will sing in foreign languages they learn at school or outside of school. The committee consisting of the principal, music teachers and parents' representatives will decide on the best three representatives. I have designed a research activity for older students (grades 5th to 8th). By random selection they will receive a proverb or saying in the Croatian language. Their task is to find an equivalent in at least three foreign languages. They should illustrate the proverb and write it in at least 4 languages (Croatian included). The committee consisting of the principal, art teacher, and parents' representatives will decide on the best three representatives. An exhibition will be organized for all students` works. Their drawings will be displayed on school`s pin boards, photographed and gathered in an e-book.
