Lingue per la pace

The title of the initiative is Languages for Peace, a theme around which the Day's program is organized: after the institutional greetings, featuring Pro-rector Alvaro Marucci and city councilor Francesca Pietrangeli, the Day will begin with a lecture given by Luca Lorenzetti, professor of glottology at the University of Tuscia, entitled Words of Peace, Words of War. Following this, the department's classrooms will become spaces in which students, male and female, both university students and the many from educational institutions in the city and province, will be able to meet and engage with languages and cultures other than their own, touching on each of the eight languages taught at DISTU, to which Italian is added (Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German). In the afternoon, participants will enjoy the proposed activities of: Taiji Shan by lecturer Tang Xiangyi (Confucius Hall, Univ. of Tuscia) and a trial Qi Gong class; Henna in the Arab world: a journey through art, rituals and identity by Jessica Pulsone (Univ. Roma Sapienza); The Languages of Peace. Workshop conducted by ARCI Solidarity Viterbo's School of Italian for Foreigners in collaboration with DISTU language students; Peace Readings by Volunteers Born to Read aimed at preschool and elementary school children. From 5:30 p.m., the DISTU department's main hall will host dance and musical performances, in the case: Tusciamannate - international dance performance and musical concert; Steps of Peace - by Sara and Rebecca Madapatha of the Rangaloka dance school; Dancing Peace - by the Ta' la ru' dance school and Casa dei Diritti Sociali della Tuscia, Fantasia Flamenca - dance performance.
