ITCG OGGIANO loves languages second edition

 School project, 23 Kas 2023 - 07 Ara 2023, Siniscola, İtalya

Our school will organise a two-week event to carry out several projects about languages. The two weeks will lead up to the final celebration day on which students will share the projects they realised and interact by taking part in language challenges. Among the activities that will be realised: FOOD AROUND THE WORLD: Our students from the Food and Wine and Hospitality course will realise recipes from the foreign countries of which they study the language or they come from. They will also translate the recipes into the languages they belong, helped by our students from the Tourism course. MICHELA PLAYS WITH LANGUAGES: Students and teachers will choose a passage from a piece of work by renowned Sardinian author Michela Murgia and will translate it in output languages, and perform them on stage. EDL T-SHIRT CONTEST: Our students from Construction Environment and Territory course will realize a new logo for the 2022/2023 EDL contest. NEWS FROM ABROAD: Our pupils will play the part of journalists and reporters from different parts of Europe, speaking the native language of the chosen country, and report about the latest news. The role play activity will be filmed in a video to be shared with their schoolmates. TO BE…NO MATTER HOW, THE SEQUEL: One of our classes will resume last year’s appreciated work and perform a multilingual short play in which iconic characters Hamlet and Don Quixote will meet Joan of Arc, together they will chat in their own languages and face a new adventure! CERTIFICATION CEREMONY: Our students who, during last school year, got their B1 and B2 Cambridge Certification in English will be handed out their certificates in front of the whole school as a recognition for their hard work. ITCG OGGIANO IS MULTILINGUAL: Foreign born students who are in our school will introduce their mother tongue to their peers and teachers by reading a passage from a famous literary work from their country, performing a popular song or presenting a saying or a famous quote representative of their culture. SONG COMPETITION: teachers and students will challenge each other in a multilingual song competition. On the celebration day everyone will be able choose their favourite taking an online poll. SARDINIA WRITES DETECTIVE STORIES: Everybody is invited to make up a short detective story in Sardinian and on the celebration day they will read or even dramatize it on stage. A SPOOKY STORY: Students are given the beginning of a story and are invited to make up a spooky end. The text must be written in English. REGIONAL VARIETIES SPEAK OUT: Several Italian regional forms and languages will blend together in dialogues between well-known personalities from the entertainment and literary world that our students and teachers, coming from just as many Italian regions, will perform. TRAVEL MAP: Students in groups choose one country each that they are eager to visit. Each group will carry out a presentation on the chosen country including photos, useful information and curiosity. The contents will be collected in a multimedia presentation and embedded in an interactive map with all the other presentations. Students should use the language spoken in the country they have chosen to present them or, if not possible, they must include at least some useful expressions in the language of their dream travel destination. ITCG WRITES FOR RIGHTS: Students and school personnel will take part in Amnesty International’s “Write for Rights” campaign running a writing marathon in the school library to show their support to human rights activists all around the world. We will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and experience together the power of words.
