What information about me does the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML), the host of the Language Challenge app, collect and how is it used?

The ECML anonymously collects three types of data when you are using the Language Challenge app:

2) For statistical purposes we also ask you to enter your year of birth and your country of residence. We can then show where users come from, what age they have and which languages are being challenged. This data is anonymously sent to our servers via a secure connection, are processed and the results are publicly displayed on our website. Because the data is sent anonymously, there is no direct connection between the displayed results and your identity. We do not share, rent or sell information concerning the app's users to third parties.

3) To use the core functionality of the mobile application, you must choose a language, mark challenges as completed and you can tell us, wether you liked the challenge or not. This data is used to generate your personal statistics on the phone, but it is also sent to our servers via a secure connection, are processed and the results are publicly displayed on our website. Because the data is sent anonymously, there is no direct connection between the displayed results and your identity.
