Languages for peace

 Celebration, 26 Medi 2024 - 27 Medi 2024

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, we celebrated the European Day of Languages at our school, Bedri Elezaga-Vladimir (Katërkollë), with a range of activities that made the day truly special. We put together a program focused on peace, diversity, and the beauty of different languages. One of the highlights of the day was writing a peace treaty. All of us participated by sharing our ideas on how to promote peace in our school and beyond. It was a great way to come together and reflect on how important it is to be kind, respectful, and supportive of one another. Seeing everyone contribute their thoughts made us feel united in our commitment to building a peaceful environment. Another memorable activity was sharing peace messages in different languages. This was such a fun way to celebrate the many languages spoken across Europe. We each got a chance to deliver messages of peace in languages we know or are learning, and it felt amazing to see how words, even in different languages, can carry the same message of love, respect, and harmony. The most exciting part of the day was the presentation of the Peace Ambassador Award to the 6th graders. It was such an honor to watch them receive this recognition for their leadership and dedication to promoting peace in our school. They truly deserve it for the way they’ve set a positive example for all of us. Thanks to the thoughtful planning the European Day of Languages was not just a celebration of different languages, but also a powerful reminder of how important it is to work together in peace and unity. It was a day we’ll all remember fondly. The entire event was organized by English teacher, Luljeta Avdiu Cura.In the event participated the Peace Corps volunteer.
